I’m gonna keep this quick, ‘cos I gotta eat, but there are two places in London’s Chinatown that you should not pass by without dropping in to sample their dumplingy delights.
Jen Café! stand up and be counted! Dumplings are made in the window and they even serve up tea with chrysanthemum flowers boiled in it. The vegetarian dumplings rock almost as much as the pork dumplings. £4.50-5 for 8.
4-8 Newport Place, WC2H 7JP, London [gmaps]
Inn Noodle! stand up and be counted! Whilst a chef makes fresh noodles in the window, they steam the best soup-filled pork dumplings you’re ever going to find. £3.50 for 4.

Hi Jay,
I am going to try the dumplings at Jen Cafe next time I’m in London. My friend is visiting in December so maybe I can live vicariously through her!
Thanks for the tip! Am hungry now…yum
I’ve been living for some time now in London, but still haven’t tried out any Dim Sum places. Definitely going to try Jen Cafe next time I’m in the neighbourhood.
Now I’m craving dumplings!
@Tina @Melinda You really should!
@Su-Lin It is always the right time for dumplings…
lol @Inn Noodle
This is the place where a waitress brought me a plate allll to the way to where i was sitting at the back of the restaurant and never noticed that there was a HALF SEVERED COCKROACH on it. I then pointed out to her that there was an off-the-menu item on my plate and she didn’t even apologize.
AVOID.
@mike eeeewwwwww……….
dude you dont understand the effect your comments may have had on other peoples lives. after reading your post i went to jen cafe for possibly the most horrific dumpling (and non dumpling) experience of my life. wtf? is your dumpling scale off kilter or are you messing with us? maybe it was a bad night. but please think about the breadth with which your words are circulated when posted online. especially when posting about dumplings you NEED to be sure they are good. jen cafe = stay away…
Do you mind if I take your recommendations with a pinch of salt rather than cockroach?
I still love the place! We went recently for wonton soup (more like little dumplings soup) and it was great!
In Noodle DO serve the best motherfunkin’ dumplings in London.
And not only dumplings,but lots of chinese food. We tried both the dumplings and the BBQ rib. Tasty, moist, tender… Beautiful
I should notify you about it.
